The
latest model in the line of digital tanpuras invented by
Radel
is the Saarang Miraj, an all-in-one tanpura. This unique tanpura can be
used as an automatic 4-string tanpura, a manually tuned 4-string tanpura,
a 5-string tanpura or a 6-string tanpura. The Saarang Miraj has been
designed specially for the professional musician who would like the
facility to tune each note of the tanpura personally. The Saarang Miraj
uses sampler technology to produce the natural sound of the traditional
tanpura. What this means is that the Saarang Miraj and all Radel Digital
tanpuras (tamburas) have the actual digital recording of a traditional
tanpura on a chip, which, by means of embedded software, is then used to
produce the various notes.
The traditional tanpura usually has 4
strings, tuned to a particular set of notes. The facility of the 5th or
6th string is provided in some traditional tanpuras, to enable the artist
to tune the 5th and 6th string to any note suitable to the raga that is
being performed.
As with all
Radel
products, the Saarang Miraj too comes with a host of other facilities:
-
Accurate pitch-pipe with digital display
-
Facility to fine-tune all notes
-
Digital
display
-
Automatic saving of user settings
-
SMPS
facility to use on any voltage from 90V to 260V AC
-
Built-in battery facility with automatic switch-over to batteries in
case of power failure
-

sleek, compact, unbreakable ABS cabinet.
